Dear Potential Donor:
Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation (SPAR) is hosting the 28th Annual “Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Basketball Tournament” February 19-21, 2016. This citywide tournament unites men and women of all ages, social and ethnic backgrounds, demonstrating a true spirit of competition and humanity. This tournament honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and is held in conjunction with Black History Month celebrations throughout the City of Shreveport.
The 2015 tournament was a tremendous success thanks to contributions and support from various businesses throughout Shreveport and Bossier. Last year’s tournament attracted over one hundred men and women youth/adult teams from Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas, Georgia and Louisiana. In 2016, we are expecting more than 150 teams and over 1,000 athletes, as teams compete for bragging rights as the best amateur league basketball team in the region.
SPAR is requesting your support and sponsorship for this event. Financial sponsorships and/or in-kind services will be used to help underwrite event development cost and facilitation services. Donations range from $100-$10,000 (see the attached sponsorship information).
Thank you and we are hopeful of a positive response! Your support will truly enhance the development of this regional sporting event. If you need additional information, please contact me at (318) 673-7838 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for your support.
